Trypillya Sun: second-largest player in Ukraine’s tea market
6 May 2026
In three years, Trypillya Sun has become the second-largest player in Ukraine’s tea market, two of the company’s brands are in the category’s top five, and export shipments grew by 635% in 2025. In an interview with the Retail Association of Ukraine (RAU), Trypillya Sun’s CEO Yuliia Romantsova explained how a Ukrainian company achieved these results.
Trypillya Sun’s story began on 22 April 2022, built on its own production facilities in Obukhiv. At an extremely difficult time for Ukraine, the team set itself an ambitious goal: to build a modern Ukrainian tea company and create a portfolio of brands able to compete both at home and in international markets.
Today the company’s portfolio brings together four brands: Trypillya Sun, Sherlock Secrets, Tea Moments and Tea Family, each with its own positioning and its own consumer audience.
Three years of steady growth
The 2025 results were an important milestone for the company. Trypillya Sun’s sales grew by 44% to UAH 675 million, and net profit exceeded UAH 33 million.
But the financial figures are not the only thing that matters. In three years, Trypillya Sun has become the second-largest player in Ukraine’s tea market, and two of the company’s four brands are in the top five of the tea category.
Behind these results is consistent work on several fronts at once: developing distribution, creating new products, working with national and regional retail chains, marketing support for the brands and ongoing research into consumer needs.
Own production and investment
The company’s own production in Obukhiv remains one of the foundations of its growth. The factory can produce up to 700 tonnes of tea per month, and its modern equipment makes it possible to produce not only for the Ukrainian market but also to the requirements of international markets.
The company continues to invest in production. In 2025 alone, UAH 26.5 million was invested in the factory’s equipment, followed by another UAH 18.6 million in 2026.
From the Ukrainian market to international markets
Export has become a separate strategic priority for Trypillya Sun. In 2025, the company’s export shipments grew by 635%, and exports reached 10% of its total brand portfolio.
Trypillya Sun products are available in Moldova, Latvia, Estonia and the Czech Republic. In 2026, Canada, Poland and Italy were added to the company’s export markets.
Another important step was entering the UK market. In April 2026, the company presented its brands at the Food & Drink Expo in Birmingham, where Tea Moments Summer Melody ranked first for purchase intent in the Taste the Future programme.
For us, international growth is not just an extra sales channel. It is a chance to test how competitive a Ukrainian product is in mature markets and to lay the foundation for the company’s next stage of growth.
The consumer stays at the centre
One principle has guided Trypillya Sun from the very beginning: decisions should be based not only on the team’s own vision but on people’s real needs. That is why new products are preceded by research, focus groups, and analysis of consumer behaviour and market trends.
The same approach applies to marketing projects. One of the largest examples was the national campaign by Sherlock Secrets with the 1+1 breakfast show «Snidanok z 1+1».
Over the two months of the campaign, the promo landing page attracted more than 178,000 unique visitors, participants registered around 2,400 tea stories, the campaign delivered more than 38 million brand contacts, and sales grew by 43% in value compared with the same period of the previous year.
Strong results in FMCG never come from a single tool. They appear when a quality product, availability, marketing, partnership with retail and an emotional connection with the consumer all work together.
What next?
Three years is a short time for a company. Yet in that time Trypillya Sun has gone from launching a new Ukrainian tea platform to becoming one of the category leaders. Ahead are further brand development in Ukraine, new products, deeper partnerships with retail and scaling up in international markets.
